In the work ‘Since All is Void’, which is also was the title of my first solo exhibition, I transformed the exhibition space into an obscure, ambiguous environment by using painted images on tiles. At first glance they seem to have the normal texture of bathroom tiles, but in fact they depict figurative images trying to escape from their shape and symbol.
In this work, I use my personal visual experiences to contemplate our obsession with and ease towards the elements of real and unreal, solid and void, of all existences. 《本來無一物》(Since All is Void)這件作品是由家中廁所的瓷磚中取得靈感。作品用三百三十塊彷瓷磚所組成，看似充滿不同圖像的紋理，但嘗試擺脫形狀和符號的引誘，最終不過是一堆瓷磚。正如六祖慧能所說：「本來無一物，何處惹塵埃。」事物皆由心所創造，一切都只屬虛幻。 |
